What is the secret connection between Gatsby and Daisy? What does Gatsby hope for? Why does he throw his elaborate parties?Respond in one well written paragraph. Why did Gatsby buy his house? Why does he think he needs such a mansion?Respond in one well written paragraph.
The connection between Gatsby and Daisy is that he fell in love with her. He was hoping that if he threw a lot of parties that she would show up, because he couldn't let go of not having her. He throws elaborate parties because he wants to seem popular and he also wants Daisy to show up. Lots of people come to his parties to party like stars. At these parties peoplecame to his house for the parties, and to use his pool, boats, car, and much more.
I think he bought the house to make another popular statement. He needs a house like this to make a statement and to still seem on top. But he also bought it thinking that he could win Daisy back. He doesn't want to lose popularity. He tries to impress everyone including Daisy by getting this big house.

Absolutely. Excellent analysis. I really enjoy reading your posts. They put forth an assertion and then support it with text-based references. You handle literary analysis very well. Nice work and a pleasure to read.
